Opmerkingen	De Javasche Bank, headquartered in Batavia, held the note-issuing monopoly for the Dutch East Indies throughout the colonial period. This series was produced by Enschedé in Haarlem and shipped to the colony — a logistical arrangement that made the notes vulnerable to wartime interruption, which would become catastrophically relevant when Japanese forces occupied the Indies in 1942 and rendered the entire Javasche Bank circulation worthless almost overnight. P#69 is among the last issues of this denomination before the 1930s series revision. The Enschedé watermark remains the primary security feature, consistent with the firm's long practice of manufacturing their own security papers in-house.
