| Beschrijving voorzijde | The upper portion of the note is dominated by a central allegorical vignette of the head of Austria surrounded by symbols of agriculture and shipping, executed in fine intaglio engraving after a design by Peter Fendi. The lower centre bears the coat of arms of the Austrian Empire, flanked on the left by a putto holding scales and on the right by a putto holding a writing board. The denomination "5" and date appear within the typeset text, with oval guilloche cartouches framing the serial number and series designations at upper left and right. |
