Obverse description The Polish state eagle displayed in high relief occupies the central field, rendered in a bold Art Deco style with spread wings, scrolled feather detailing, and a crowned head facing right. The eagle bears no shield on its breast, reflecting the republican heraldic convention of the interwar Second Polish Republic. The mint mark 'W' (Warsaw Mint) appears to the left of the eagle's tail. The circular legend reads 'RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA' (Republic of Poland) interrupted by the date at the top of the coin.
