Obverse description Intaglio-printed portrait of President Dr. François Duvalier in an oval vignette at left, set against a fine guilloche underprint in orange-red. To the right, a central ornamental cartouche bears the numeral '5' monogram over 'G', flanked by the serial number in dark blue on both sides. Three signature lines for Le Gouverneur, Le Gouverneur Adjoint, and Le Directeur appear below, with a legal tender clause in French across the lower centre.

Reverse description The reverse is dominated by two large '5G' guilloche medallions flanking a central intaglio vignette of the Haitian coat of arms — a palm tree surmounted by a liberty cap, with cannons and cannonballs below and the motto 'L'UNION FAIT LA FORCE' on a ribbon — all framed within an ornate scrollwork border. Dense rosette and floral guilloche panels fill the left and right fields. A legal tender text panel in French appears beneath the central vignette, with the printer's imprint at the foot.
