| 背面描述 | Facing busts of Emperor Franz Joseph I, in military uniform with ornate collar, at left, and Empress Elisabeth of Austria (Sissi), diademed and wearing a jewelled necklace, at right, are depicted in high relief against a plain field, their gazes meeting. Between and below the two effigies, a large raised heart motif serves as a central decorative element symbolising their union. The legend ÖSTERREICH appears in the lower left field, while SISSI & FRANZ JOSEPH curves along the lower right periphery. |

This piece belongs to a wave of gold collector issues that flooded the market after the Democratic Republic of the Congo reconstituted itself following Mobutu Sese Seko's fall in 1997. With no meaningful numismatic tradition to speak of, the newly renamed state licensed its mint authority to European distributors — primarily Swiss and Belgian operators — who designed and marketed these coins almost entirely outside Africa, targeting continental collector markets with romantic Habsburg imagery that has no connection whatsoever to Congolese history.
