| Obverse description | Central field bears the Arabic inscription سَندروَال (Sandarval), a transliteration of the name of French entrepreneur Olivier de Sanderval, presented within an oval cartouche. The denomination weight designation 25 GR.A. appears above the cartouche in Latin characters, while the date 1894 is inscribed below in the exergue. The composition and layout reflect the hybrid Franco-Arabic character of this fantasy issue produced in connection with Sanderval's colonial ambitions in Fouta Djallon. |

| Reverse description | A lion passant is depicted in high relief, striding left with its head turned toward the viewer and mouth open in a roaring posture, its tail raised and curled. The animal stands upon a raised ground line or plinth, above which a crescent moon is positioned in the upper field. The inscription KAHEL — referring to the capital of the Imamate of Fouta Djallon — appears in bold Latin letters beneath the ground line. The overall design is bold and well-modelled, consistent with a Proof-quality fantasy strike. The reverse composition draws on Islamic heraldic symbolism through the crescent motif. |
