Reverse description The denomination numeral 5 above the legend FRANCS is presented within a square frame set on its corner point (lozenge orientation), the whole placed within a decorative doubled square with ornamental Moorish fretwork filling the corners. This central device is enclosed within a raised circle surrounded by flowing arabesque scrollwork in the field. The Latin legend MAROC arcs prominently along the upper periphery, while the Arabic legend of the Mohammedian Sherifian coinage fills the lower arc, all within a dentilated outer border consistent with the obverse design.
