| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field dominated by an elaborate interlaced Star of Solomon (hexagram) rendered in fine Moorish arabesque style, enclosing a circular medallion bearing the Hijri date 1365 in Arabic-Eastern numerals. The surrounding annular band is filled with flowing cursive Arabic calligraphy reading الدولة الشريفة (the Cherifian State). The Latin legend EMPIRE CHERIFIEN arcs along the upper periphery, while the lower border carries a continuous geometric and floral ornamental frieze, all elements executed in high relief characteristic of Monnaie de Paris essai strikes. |
