Reverse description Central design features a large square frame rotated 45 degrees to form a lozenge, set within a circular border and ornamented at each corner with floral motifs in the Moorish tradition. Within the square, the denomination numeral 5 appears prominently in the upper portion, with FRANCS inscribed below it and ESSAI in smaller lettering beneath, all in Latin characters. The legend MAROC arcs along the upper periphery in Latin script, while the Arabic equivalent المغرب occupies the lower border. An ornate band of interlaced arabesque scrollwork fills the annular space between the central square and the outer legend, reflecting the refined engraving style of a Paris Mint trial piece.
