Reverse description Central field bears the denomination 5 FRANCS in two bold lines, with the date 1831 below, flanked by the mint letter and the differents of the Mint Director and Chief Engraver. The entire central device is enclosed within a laurel and olive wreath tied at the base with a ribbon, the laurel branch on the left and the olive branch on the right. The composition is symmetrical and emblematic of the July Monarchy's civic symbolism.
