Aanvullende informatie

Belgium's mid-1930s nickel coinage was produced under acute political pressure — Léopold III had acceded to the throne in February 1934 following his father Albert I's death in a climbing accident, and the country was still navigating the economic wreckage of the Depression while managing a fractured linguistic divide between French and Flemish populations. Separate French- and Dutch-text versions were struck simultaneously, a long-standing Belgian compromise that doubled the die work and created distinct collecting series from a single issue.

The 1936 date saw significantly higher production than 1937, making the latter the more elusive of the two years.
