Obverse description Left-facing effigy of Grand Duke Jean of Luxembourg (1921–2000, reigned 1964–2000) occupying the central field, rendered in high relief with fine portraiture. The circumferential legend reads 'JEAN GRAND-DUC DE LUXEMBOURG' in raised Latin characters. The engravers' signatures 'J.N. LEFÈVRE' appear in the lower field beneath the truncation.
