| 表面の銘文 | REPUBLIQUE DEMOCRATIQUE DU CONGO 5 FRANCS |
| 裏面の説明 | The central field features a holographic multicolor insert replicating the design of the final 1 Deutsche Mark coin dated 2001, depicting the numeral 1 flanked by oak branches with the legend DEUTSCHE MARK, all rendered with iridescent holographic effect. Surrounding the insert, the legend FINAL ISSUE OF arcs along the upper periphery, while THE GERMAN MARK curves along the lower periphery. The year of issue 2002 appears in two parts in the left and right fields respectively, flanking the holographic medallion. The overall composition commemorates the withdrawal of the Deutsche Mark upon Germany's adoption of the euro. |

The "5 Francs German Mark" belongs to a sprawling series of commemorative issues produced for the DRC under Laurent-Désiré Kabila and later his son Joseph, largely marketed to foreign collectors rather than circulated domestically. The country's own monetary situation in 2002 was dire — the franc had been reintroduced only in 1998 after Mobutu's zaïre collapsed, and hyperinflation made coin production for local use largely pointless.
The German mark itself ceased to be legal tender on January 1, 2002, superseded by the euro. This piece was struck the same year the mark disappeared.
