Obverse description Bare-headed effigy of King Charles X facing left, rendered in high relief with finely detailed flowing hair swept back behind the ear, in the neoclassical style engraved by Michaut. The encircling legend reads CHARLES X ROI DE FRANCE, separated by a raised dentilated border. The engraver's signature MICHAUT. appears at the base of the bust near the rim, with a small cursive mint-mark letter below. The field is smooth and slightly concave, characteristic of the Restoration-era minting technique.
