Aanvullende informatie

The Banque Centrale du Congo issued a series of wildlife-themed collector pieces in the early 2000s during one of the most economically destabilized periods in the country's postcolonial history. The DRC was still mid-conflict during the Second Congo War, a sprawling multinational war involving nine countries that would ultimately claim an estimated five million lives by its end in 2003. Circulating coinage was largely irrelevant to daily commerce in much of the country at this time.

KM#75 is a non-circulating legal tender piece aimed squarely at the international collector market.
