| Obverse description | Right-facing draped bust of Marianne wearing a Phrygian cap, rendered in a refined Art Deco style by engraver L. Bazor, whose signature appears in small letters along the lower rim. The circular legend REPVBLIQVE FRANÇAISE is divided by the effigy, with ESSAI inscribed in small letters near the upper left of the field. The date 19-33 is split across the lower exergue on either side of the bust's truncation. |
