Obverse description Right-facing draped bust of Marianne wearing a Phrygian cap, rendered in a refined Art Deco style by engraver L. Bazor, whose signature appears in small letters along the lower rim. The circular legend REPVBLIQVE FRANÇAISE is divided by the effigy, with ESSAI inscribed in small letters near the upper left of the field. The date 19-33 is split across the lower exergue on either side of the bust's truncation.

Reverse description Central denomination 5 FRANCS displayed prominently in the field, surmounted by an elegant arrangement of six ears of wheat flanked by an olive branch and oak branches, with a bunch of grapes completing the decorative wreath. The republican motto LIBERTÉ ÉGALITÉ FRATERNITÉ is inscribed along the outer legend, reflecting the civic symbolism characteristic of Third Republic coinage.
