正面描述 Plain grey paper with black letterpress print throughout. Two small anchor symbols flank a central five-pointed star, all centred on the note. The design is austere and purely typographic, consistent with a wartime military mess voucher.

备注

Mess currency of this type — issued by French military canteen committees in North Africa during the Vichy and then Free French periods — occupied a legal grey zone. Not government-issued, not formally regulated, these notes functioned as internal scrip to manage alcohol, tobacco, and meal credits within the mess, preventing French currency from leaking out of closed military establishments.

Ain El Turck is a coastal village west of Oran, in what was then French Algeria. The junior officers' mess there ran its own parallel economy across the wartime years, a not uncommon arrangement in isolated garrison postings.

Grey paper stock was a wartime expediency — quality white stock had become scarce by 1942.
