Beschrijving voorzijde	Printed in red on white paper, the obverse is centred on an oval vignette in dark red containing a left-facing portrait of Marianne wearing a Phrygian cap. Flanking the central vignette on both sides are anchor devices surmounted by the Cross of Lorraine. The issuer's title arcs across the upper field, with the denomination and designer's credit appearing in the lower margin.

Beschrijving keerzijde	Printed in red on a pink-orange gradient guilloche security underprint, the reverse carries a central oval panel containing the text of Article 139 of the Penal Code, warning against counterfeiting, as decreed by the Free France Ordinance of 2 December 1941. Guilloche rosettes occupy each corner, and the numeral "5" is repeated in the left and right fields flanking the central oval.
