Obverse description Central vignette of thatched huts and palm trees set in a tropical landscape, flanked by lush tropical foliage on either side within an ornate guilloche border; a five-pointed star appears at top centre above the bank title. A large blank oval watermark area occupies the right portion of the note, with denomination numerals "5" in each corner. Two manuscript signatures appear below the vignette under the titles "Le Directeur Général" and "Le Président", with the payable city and date printed in red.
