| 正面描述 | Seated allegorical figure of the French Republic (Marianne) facing left, holding a torch aloft in her right hand and a cornucopia overflowing with fruit in her left arm, enthroned upon a chair flanked by two lion heads. The figure is rendered in a classical academic style by engraver G.B. Bazor, whose signature appears in the lower right field. The circular legend reads REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE to the left and UNION FRANCAISE to the right, with the date 1952 displayed in the lower exergue flanked by decorative foliate stops. |

The Institut d'Émission d'Outre-Mer was established in 1951 specifically to manage currency across France's remaining overseas territories after the dissolution of the Caisse Centrale de la France d'Outre-Mer's monetary functions — this 1952 issue is among the earliest struck under that new authority. The aluminium-magnesium alloy was a deliberate postwar choice, metal rationing still shaping procurement decisions across French colonial mints well into the early 1950s.
