Comments

The "Trésor Français" series was produced specifically for use by French armed forces and associated personnel in the immediate postwar period — a controlled currency designed to prevent the kind of black-market destabilization that had plagued liberated France after 1944. These military francs circulated alongside, but were not freely exchangeable with, ordinary domestic notes, limiting their usefulness for hoarding or speculation.

Engraving credit to Deloche and Munier on a Banque de France press signals proper intaglio production rather than the emergency lithographic shortcuts common to occupation-era French paper. Small note, serious manufacture.
