备注

The Trésorerie de Nouméa emergency issues of 1943 were a direct consequence of New Caledonia's break with Vichy France. After the territory rallied to Free France in September 1940, it was cut off from the normal supply chain of colonial banknotes through the Banque de l'Indochine's metropolitan channels. Local treasury notes were improvised to keep commerce moving, printed under wartime conditions with whatever materials were at hand.

Paper quality on these issues is notoriously inconsistent, and foxing is endemic to surviving examples — a known characteristic of the series, not a sign of unusual wear.
