Aanvullende informatie

Ecuador's 1858 coinage was produced under acute political instability — the country had cycled through multiple heads of state in the preceding decade, and General Francisco Robles, then in power, was navigating both internal revolt and the lingering financial disorder of a young republic still dependent on foreign minting contracts. KM#39 was struck at the Santiago, Chile mint, one of several South American facilities Ecuador relied upon during periods when domestic minting capacity was either absent or insufficient.

The .900 fine standard mirrors the contemporaneous Spanish colonial weight tradition, deliberately maintained to ensure acceptance in regional trade circuits.
