| Obverse description | The Hungarian People's Republic state emblem occupies the central field, depicting a shield bearing the national colours with a rising sun, flanked by symmetrical wheat sheaves bound at the base and surmounted by a five-pointed star. The mint mark 'BP.' appears below the emblem. The circular legend 'MAGYAR · NÉPKÖZTÁRSASÁG' arcs around the upper periphery, interrupted on the left by the date '19 67'. The denomination '5 FORINT' is inscribed in large letters along the lower portion of the field, flanked by two small decorative stars. |
