Aanvullende informatie

The San Juan Festival — celebrated each June 24th — is one of Aruba's oldest folk traditions, rooted in the Catholic feast of Saint John the Baptist but heavily shaped by African and indigenous Arawak influences brought through the island's colonial history. The Centrale Bank van Aruba has used its collector florin series consistently to document Aruban cultural life that formal historiography tends to underrepresent.

KM#42 is part of a broader commemorative program the bank ran through the 2000s, issuing .925 silver 5-florin pieces tied to specific local festivals and customs.
