| Obverse description | The copper-nickel centre features a bust of a Roman-era figure in the left foreground, draped and holding a scroll, evoking the city's ancient Batavian and Roman heritage. Behind him stands a full-length Roman soldier in military attire, bearing a spear and shield, positioned centrally in the field.
