正面描述 Central device features a raised circular cartouche enclosing the Arabic numeral '٥' (5) above the denomination legend 'فلوس' (Fils), all set within a scalloped twelve-lobed field. The country name 'الجمهورية العراقية' (The Iraqi Republic) is inscribed in bold Arabic script across the upper portion of the field, arching around the central cartouche. Two crossed stalks of wheat are rendered in fine relief in the lower field, one to the left and one to the right, their ears pointing downward and crossing at the base of the cartouche, symbolising Iraq's agricultural heritage. The scalloped rim with twelve rounded notches frames the entire design. The overall engraving style is clean and precise, consistent with Royal Mint workmanship of the period.

附加信息

Iraq's copper-nickel coinage of this period was issued under the Ba'ath Party's first brief stint in power and then through the government that followed the 1968 coup — meaning coins struck within this single type's date range were produced under two fundamentally different political administrations. The Central Bank had been established only in 1947, and these small-denomination pieces were workhorses of everyday commerce in a country whose oil revenues were still largely controlled by the Iraq Petroleum Company until nationalization in 1972.
