Reverse description The reverse presents a finely engraved scene of three date palms (Phoenix dactylifera) rising from an irrigated agricultural landscape, the tallest palm occupying the centre of the field with two flanking palms of lesser height to either side, all bearing clusters of fruit at their crowns. Below the palm trunks, rows of cultivated fields and irrigation channels are depicted in low relief, evoking the fertile Mesopotamian river valley. The dual dates are inscribed in the left and right fields respectively: the Gregorian year '١٩٦٧' to the left and the Hijri year '١٣٨٧' to the right, rendered in Arabic-Indic numerals. The scalloped twelve-lobed border mirrors the obverse. The composition is a national emblem of Iraq's agricultural prosperity, engraved with characteristic precision by the Royal Mint.
