Obverse description Central square hole flanked by four Chinese ideograms in regular script (kaishu), arranged in the traditional reading order: top to bottom and right to left. The four-character inscription reads 'Zhi Zheng Zhi Bao' (至正之寶), meaning 'Precious Currency of the Zhizheng era,' referencing the reign period of Yuan Emperor Toghon Temür (1341–1368). The characters are boldly rendered in raised relief against a flat field, with clean strokes characteristic of Yuan dynasty cast coinage. No decorative elements or additional symbols appear in the field.
