| Obverse description | The obverse is divided into twelve radiating segments, each populated with incuse reliefs of the twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac cycle, set against a finely textured field. At center right, a circular medallion depicts the Semeuse (the allegorical sower), the traditional emblem of the French Republic, accompanied by the country identifier 'RF'. The denomination '5 EURO' appears prominently in the upper center of the design, with the inscription 'CALENDRIER CHINOIS' arcing across the lower portion of the coin. The years 2018 through 2029, corresponding to the full twelve-year zodiac cycle, are inscribed along the borders of the radiating segments. |
