Aanvullende informatie

Willemstad, capital of Curaçao, was granted city rights by the Dutch West India Company in 1634, making it one of the oldest European-founded settlements in the Caribbean. The city's UNESCO World Heritage–listed historic district, designated in 1997, reflects over three centuries of Dutch colonial urban planning adapted to a tropical climate — a peculiarity that gives its architecture a distinctly hybrid character found nowhere else in the Kingdom.

The Dutch five-euro collector series has long used silver-plated copper for its lower-tier issues, keeping them accessible while maintaining a nominal face value redeemable within the Netherlands.
