| 裏面の説明 | The reverse is dominated by a large numeral 5 rendered in the same embroidery-effect relief as the obverse, with a small euro symbol incorporated at its centre, serving as the denomination indicator. The field is divided by a bold vertical bar into two halves: the left half displays a stylized parachute canopy rendered in radiating stitched lines, referencing the airborne operations of Operation Market Garden, while the right half depicts a schematic glider or aircraft form in the same embroidered style. The inscription MARKET GARDEN appears vertically in the lower central field, completing the commemorative theme honoring the 75th anniversary of the WWII Allied airborne operation. |

Operation Market Garden, launched in September 1944, was the largest airborne operation in history and a costly Allied failure — Montgomery's gamble to seize Rhine bridges and end the war by Christmas collapsed at Arnhem, where the 1st British Airborne Division was effectively destroyed. The Netherlands commemorates it with complicated national memory: liberated in the south, yet the occupied north endured the Hunger Winter of 1944–45 that followed the operation's failure.
This silver-plated copper issue was sold at face value as a circulation-quality commemorative, part of the Dutch mint's ongoing collector-accessible series rather than a bullion or proof program.
