Obverse description The obverse features a highly stylised, abstract rosette or mandala-like design created by artist Navid Nuur, composed of radiating fan-shaped petal elements arranged in overlapping concentric circles, producing a layered optical effect with a small irregular void at the centre. The intricate geometric relief fills the entire inner field of the coin. The legend WILLEM-ALEXANDER reads vertically along the left rim, while KONING DER NEDERLANDEN curves along the lower rim. The date 2018 appears at the top of the rim. A small heraldic lion mintmark is visible at the lower left, between the central design and the rim inscription.
