Obverse description The obverse presents an artistic, modernist composition commemorating Latvian composer Emīls Dārziņš. The field is dominated by a sweeping arc motif suggestive of a musical bow stroke, rendered in high relief against a deeply mirrored proof background. Concentric circular lines frame the upper portion of the design, evoking sound waves or musical notation. The dates '1875' and '1910', representing the composer's birth and death years, appear in the lower left and lower right of the field respectively. The name 'EMĪLS DĀRZIŅŠ' is inscribed in flowing, stylized script along the lower arc of the coin.
