Reverse description The reverse presents a naïve, child-inspired artistic design depicting the sea rendered as bold horizontal undulating lines filling the lower field. A large oval form resembling a fish or vessel with a textured, scale-like surface emerges from the waves near the upper right. Above, the word 'O MAR' is inscribed in a loose, hand-drawn style lettering, and the word 'SALVA' appears in large informal characters along the lower field. The engraver's signature and the INCM mint mark appear in the lower right exergue area.

Additional information

Part of Portugal's "O Mar" series aimed at younger collectors, this issue was produced under an INCM initiative to engage children directly in coin design — the winning artwork submitted by a Portuguese schoolchild was adapted for the dies with minimal intervention, preserving the deliberate informality of the original drawing.
