正面描述 At the center of the nonagonal field, the large numeral '5' dominates, accompanied by the denomination inscription '5 EURO'. Surrounding the central value, the nine heraldic shields of the Austrian federal provinces are arranged in a ring, each rendered in fine relief, drawing direct stylistic inspiration from the classic Austrian 50 Schilling coinage. The circular legend 'REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH' runs along the outer periphery, separated from the shield arrangement by a defined border. The overall composition, engraved by Thomas Pesendorfer, reflects a strong continuity with Austrian numismatic tradition.

附加信息

The Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde in Wien — the Society of Music Friends — was founded in 1812, making 2012 its bicentenary and the direct occasion for this issue. The society's archive holds one of the most significant music collections in the world, including Brahms manuscripts donated by the composer himself, who served as the society's artistic director from 1872 to 1875. The "a" suffix on both catalog references denotes the silver variant within a two-metal issue, the base-metal companion struck in clad steel for general circulation.
