Reverse description The reverse presents a richly detailed and fully colored rendition of the famous Prague Astronomical Clock (Orloj), as installed on the Old Town City Hall. The design faithfully reproduces the medieval astrolabe dial, featuring concentric rings rendered in deep cobalt blue, teal, and gold, with the zodiacal band displaying all twelve astrological signs in gilt relief. Gold-colored clock hands radiate from a central point, with a sun pointer, a moon phase indicator showing a stylized globe, and subsidiary hands for sidereal time; the inscriptions AVRORA, ORTVS, OCCASVS, and CREPVSCVLVM denote the four daily twilight periods around the dial. The outermost ring bears Old Bohemian numerals in gilt on a dark blue ground, while Arabic and Roman numerals appear on the inner rings, and a small five-pointed star marks the nadir position at the base of the dial.
