Lourinhanosaurus antunesi was excavated from the Lourinhã Formation in western Portugal — one of the most productive Late Jurassic fossil beds in Europe — and formally described in 1998 by Octávio Mateus. The species is known from a single juvenile specimen, making it one of the more scientifically precarious entries in Portuguese paleontology.
This is the fourth release in INCM's ongoing dinosaur series, which draws exclusively from taxa discovered on Portuguese territory.
