Obverse description The obverse presents a panoramic cityscape of Perugia rendered in the lower and central field, drawn from the fresco depicting the first translation of the body of Saint Ercolano, attributed to Benedetto Bonfigli (ca. 1445–1496) and executed for the Chapel of the Palazzo dei Priori. The architectural composition faithfully conveys the late-medieval urban fabric of the city, with towers, arched gateways, and civic buildings rendered in careful relief. The legend REPUBBLICA ITALIANA arcs along the upper periphery in raised Latin characters. The engraver's signature U. PERNAZZA appears incused in the lower field.
