| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse presents a striking mirror-image architectural composition depicting the Hôtel des Invalides, shown in precise engraved elevation across the upper half of the field with its iconic dome prominently rendered at center. The design employs a reflective symmetry, with the building's facade mirrored in the lower half to create a kaleidoscopic effect. The horizontal legend REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE bisects the field at center, separating the two architectural reflections. Fine radiating and geometric decorative elements fill the background, enhancing the overall ornamental quality of the design. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Part of the Monnaie de Paris "Monuments de Paris" series, this miniature gold piece was issued as an affordable entry point into bullion collecting — at half a gram, it was priced close to spot and sold primarily through tourist venues near the monuments themselves. The Grand Palais had just completed a major phase of its ongoing structural restoration, which had intermittently closed sections of the building since the 1990s following concerns about the deteriorating iron framework.
