Obverse description Stylized right-facing effigy of Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg rendered in a bold, geometric Art Deco-inspired style occupying the nordic gold centre. The portrait is executed in sharp angular facets, giving the bust a sculptural, modernist character. To the left of the effigy, the date 2014 is inscribed vertically in the field, with the country name LËTZEBUERG also reading vertically beneath it. A small engraver's initial appears at the lower left of the portrait. The contrasting mirror-finish silver ring frames the composition cleanly.

Reverse description The reverse features a full, spreading apple tree rendered in high relief across the nordic gold centre, its broad canopy filling the upper field in naturalistic detail with fine branch and leaf texture. At the lower left, a stylized apple blossom and a harvested apple fruit are depicted in the silver ring portion, accompanied by a single fallen leaf at the bottom of the field. The denomination 5 EURO appears prominently to the lower right in the gold centre. The circular legend REINETTE DE LUXEMBOURG · LUXEMBURGER RENETTE runs along the upper periphery of the silver ring in raised Latin lettering, commemorating the historic Luxembourgish apple variety.
