Flanking the shield on either side is an ornate wreath composed of palm and olive branches interspersed with roses and lilies. The denomination '5 EURO' appears in the legend along with the issuer inscription 'MALTA' and the motto 'FIDUCIA FORTIS 1968', the latter referencing the Bank's founding year. The silver fineness designation '1 oz 999.9 FINE SILVER' is incorporated within the circular legend. The mintmark 'GM' for Germania Mint is present in the lettering. |
