| Obverse description | The crowned Arms of the Central Bank of Malta occupy the central field, superimposed upon a Maltese cross rendered in the background. Flanking the shield on either side is an ornate wreath composed of palm and olive branches interspersed with roses and lilies. The denomination '5 EURO' appears in the legend along with the issuer inscription 'MALTA' and the motto 'FIDUCIA FORTIS 1968', the latter referencing the Bank's founding year.
