| Obverse description | The copper-nickel centre displays the papal coat of arms of Pope Francis, featuring a shield bearing the Christogram IHS set within a radiant sun above a star and a sprig of nard, surmounted by the papal tiara and crossed keys of Saint Peter. A scroll at the base of the shield carries the pontifical motto MISERANDO ATQUE ELIGENDO. The outer bronzital ring bears the Latin legend FRANCISCVS PP. A. D. MMXVIII along the upper arc, completing the heraldic composition. |
