| Obverse description | The nine heraldic shields of the Austrian federal provinces are arranged in a circular pattern around the large numeral '5' denoting the face value, with the legend 'REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH' and '5 · EURO ·' completing the inscription. The composition draws direct artistic inspiration from the classic Austrian 50 Schilling coinage series.
