| 正面描述 | The upper left portion of the obverse features an articulated rendering of sauropod vertebrae, treated with a photoluminescent finish that causes the design to glow in the dark. The central field displays a trail of fossilized footprints and a silhouette of the Dinheirosaurus dinosaur receding into the distance. Dinheirosaurus lourinhanensis was described from bones excavated near Lourinhã, Portugal, in the 1990s — a sauropod whose remains were initially misidentified and only formally named in 1999 by José Bonaparte and Octávio Mateus. The Lourinhã Formation has proven unexpectedly rich in Late Jurassic material, with finds including not just dinosaur bones but eggs and embryos that have reshaped understanding of sauropod reproduction.
This issue belongs to Portugal's ongoing dinosaur series from the Casa da Moeda, which has systematically worked through taxa unique to or first described from Portuguese deposits.
