Additional information

Part of Cyprus's ongoing "Rigaina's Castles" series, this issue draws on the medieval fortifications associated with Queen Alice of Champagne — referred to locally as "Rigaina," meaning queen — whose regency over the Kingdom of Cyprus in the early thirteenth century left a durable mark on the island's castellated architecture. The series has used the three great Kyrenia Range castles as its subject matter: St. Hilarion, Buffavento, and Kantara, all of which passed through periods of Lusignan royal control.

Sterling silver at .925 fineness has been the consistent specification across the series from its inception.
