| Aanvullende informatie |
Benito Jacovitti spent decades as one of Italy's most anarchic cartoonists, his work dense with salami, skeletons, and visual chaos that defied every convention of postwar Italian illustration. "Jak Mandolino" is among his recurring characters — part of a cast that populated the pages of Il Vittorioso and later Il Giornalino from the 1940s onward. The IPZS has issued a series of collector coins honoring his characters, this being among the later releases.
Jacovitti died in 1997, leaving an estate now managed actively by his family, whose cooperation with the Mint was required for licensing.
