| Obverse description | The heraldic coat of arms of Pope Francis occupies the central field, rendered in a stylised yet detailed manner. The shield displays the Jesuit IHS monogram with a cross and three nails above a radiating sun, flanked by a star and a spikenard flower — personal heraldic charges of the pontiff. Above the shield rests the papal tiara with three crowns, and two crossed keys, one gold and one silver, are tied with a red cord. The sanctuary, set in the Apennine mountains of Tuscany, is the sacred site where Saint Francis of Assisi received the stigmata in 1224.
