Issued by the Italian state mint to mark the 100th anniversary of the Guardia di Finanza's reorganization under Mussolini's government in 1924, when the corps was restructured and given its modern mandate over fiscal and financial crime. The Guardia di Finanza traces its actual origins to 1774 under the Kingdom of Sardinia, making the centennial somewhat selective in what it chooses to commemorate.
